Stone Buddha ~ Medicine

A very small Buddha figure hand carved from Himalayan stone by artisans in India. The Buddha's pose is called the bhaisajyaguru mudra, or the "Buddha of Medicine". He who quells all disease and lengthens life. The medicine Buddha is shown holding the medicinal branch of healing herbs in his right hand.
