Silver Gau Locket
The pictured silver gau pendant was crafted by hand in Nepal using 92.5 sterling silver. The symbol is one of the eight auspicious symbols in Buddhism - I think it is the Victory Banner, symbolizing Buddhas triumph over Mara, who personifies hindrances on the path to spiritual realization. (Possibly it is the Treasure Vase symbolizing longevity, abundance, and prosperity). Gaus (or Ghaus), are 'hidden box' lockets that were traditionally worn by pilgrams and used to carry an image of Buddha, prayers, or Tibetan medicine.
