Unique Tibetan Singing Bowl
Every handmade singing bowl is unique. This particular bowl is from India, made using modern tools within the last few decades by a family of bell makers for generations. This is a large heavy bowl, crafted by master craftsmen and showing symbols and iconography from Tibetan Buddhism. Inside the bowl is the raised relief figure of Sakyamuni Buddha, shown in the bhumisparsa mudra or earth-touching gesture. Surrounding the Buddha is the protection prayer mantra of Avolokitshevara, the embodiment of compassion, Om mani padme hum. The Aum mantra appears again on the outside of the bowl. Also appearing inside and outside the bowl are the eight auspicious symbols from Tibetan Buddhism, asthamangala. This particular bowl vibrates in steady B note, the Crown Chakra, whether gonging the bowl or rim playing it. A beautiful sound from a beautiful bowl!
